The university Neu-Ulm HNU is expanding its academic offerings for the winter semester 2026/27 with four new degree programs specifically designed to meet the demands of an increasingly digitalized working world. With the new Bachelor's and Master's programs in Cyber ​​Security, Smart Mobility, Artificial Intelligence & Health Informatics, and Digital Leadership in Information Management, HNU further positions itself as a future-oriented institution. The application period begins on May 2nd.

Following the successful introduction of Economic Crimes in the 25/26 winter semester and Evidence-Based Nursing in the 2026 summer semester, HNU is expanding its offerings. "Studying at HNU is characterized by international experience, self-directed learning, and close integration with practical experience. With four new degree programs, we are consistently developing our study model: Students not only learn specialist knowledge, but above all, how to ask the right questions, develop self-efficacy, and take responsibility for their own path. Applied Cyber ​​Security (B.Sc.)

Cyberattacks are among the greatest challenges of our time. The new Bachelor's degree program in Applied Cyber ​​Security (B.Sc.) trains specialists who understand and protect digital systems and can forensically analyze them in the event of an attack. Students learn in labs, projects, and realistic case studies, including ethical hacking, cryptography, and security management. A unique aspect of the program is the shift in perspective: Students initially work from the attackers' point of view, analyzing vulnerabilities and simulating targeted cyberattacks. They then switch to the role of the companies, developing protective measures and defending IT systems. Cyber ​​security is one of the fastest-growing professional fields worldwide – and the career paths for graduates are correspondingly diverse.

Smart Mobility Management (B.Sc.)

How are modern mobility services developed? How do cities become smarter? And how will the energy and charging infrastructure of the future function? The new Bachelor's program in Smart Mobility Management (B.Sc.) provides the knowledge needed to shape sustainable, connected mobility. Students learn how to utilize data spaces, how the automotive industry is evolving, and how innovative solutions for cities, businesses, and industry are created. Projects in real-world laboratories and close collaboration with industry partners bring the program to life and enable the direct transfer of theory into practice. The degree program opens up diverse career opportunities in a dynamic future market.

Artificial Intelligence & Health Informatics (M.Sc.)

Completely new: With its English-language Master's program in Artificial Intelligence & Health Informatics (M.Sc.), HNU is targeting all those who want to apply artificial intelligence (AI) and medical informatics (MI) specifically in healthcare. This part-time program qualifies graduates for careers in high-tech and pharmaceutical companies, startups, or research institutions. The focus is on AI, MI, and data-driven innovations that enable the digital transformation of healthcare.

Digital Leadership in Information Management (M.Sc.)

The English-language Master's program in Digital Leadership in Information Management (M.Sc.) is structured around an 18-month research challenge and combines three interconnected areas of competence: analytical depth in dealing with real-world IT challenges, a strategic foundation for modern IT management, and the development of personal leadership skills. The research challenge addresses a practical problem at the edge of existing knowledge. The goal is not to apply known solutions, but to generate new knowledge. Graduates are empowered not only to support digital transformation processes, but also to understand and shape them effectively based on their own analysis.
